چکیده
Background There remain ongoing racial and ethnic disparities in care outcomes among stroke patients treated the United States. However, length of stay inpatient charges warrant further evaluation. Methods The 2019 Nationwide Emergency Department Sample, which includes data from roughly 20% US emergency departments, was queried for with cerebral infarction. Multivariable logistic regression used to estimate odds prolonged hospital (>75th percentile) various race andethnic groups, including income insurance status, age, modified Charlson Comorbidity Index, vascular risk factors, delivery thrombolysis thrombectomy. Results Of 617 946 estimated acute ischemic stroke, 398 661 (65.5%) were >65 years, 386 096 (63.5%) Medicare beneficiaries. Lower Medicaid or self‐pay status more commonly observed Black Hispanic versus White ( P <0.001). In multivariable regression, likely have a (odds ratio 1.41, [95% CI 1.28–1.55]) compared patients. Prolonged inversely related income, but there no significant interaction between bracket >0.05). also associated (versus Medicare), higher thrombolysis, thrombectomy <0.05). Race not independently charges. Conclusion These results build on prior population‐based studies that indicate based differences socioeconomic race, difference Disposition delays may be due clinical severity access rehabilitation facilities.

Analyzing Main and Interaction Effects of Length of Stay Determinants in Emergency Departments
Background Measuring and understanding main determinants of length of stay (LOS) in emergency departments (EDs) is critical from an operations perspective, since LOS is one of the main performance indicators of ED operations. Therefore, this study analyzes both the main and interaction effects of four widely-used independent determinants of ED-LOS. Methods The analysis...

متن کاملDetermining Factors Influencing Length of Stay and Predicting Length of Stay Using Data Mining in the General Surgery Department
Background: Length of stay is one of the most important indicators in assessing hospital performance. A shorter stay can reduce the costs per discharge and shift care from inpatient to less expensive post-acute settings. It can lead to a greater readmission rate, better resource management, and more efficient services. Objective: This study aimed to ident...
